Gazzano is an American and Italian artist with a PhD in anthropology and ten years university teaching experience. She creates fieldwork-based performances, visual works and relational art projects that address crucial global issues, empowering diverse social groups to reclaim voice and agency in regards to the violation of their human rights and the destruction of their natural and cultural environment. Her works are effective thanks to a solid methodology that combines: the visionary power of creativity, anthropological research, deep ethical stance, community engagement. She employs multiple languages (visual arts, performance, speaking, text, comics) to engage diverse audiences and cause action. She bridges the gap between art and the public, triggering social change with courage and outspokenness.
